Boon Nam brings vivid flavors elegantly from the land of smiles, Thailand, known for its vibrant cuisine, colorful and unique dishes. Boon Nam offers small bites full of flavour, aromatic spicy salads and juicy charcoal barbequed meats from Isan region, creamy coconut curries from central Thailand and fresh seafood dishes from southern Thailand. Fresh herbs, crushed lime juice, chilies, toasted peanuts - balance between four essential elements: hot, sour, salty and sweet is the key element in Boon Nam’s cuisine. Everything in Boon Nam is house made from scratch. Dishes will be shared with the entire table, family style. Boon Nam and Hotel St. George both share holistic well-being values. Boon Nam complements Hotel St. Georges services, but operates as an independent restaurant and is owned by Tomi Björck, Serko Rantanen, Ronny Malmberg, Kevin Manu, Hoang Nguyen and Minka Björck. This extremely experienced team wanted to unite their strengths and skills, then Boon Nam - a vidid and interesting restaurant was created. This result exudes love towards from scratch house made food, craftmanship and true passion towards Thai cuisine and it’s unique flavours.

One of Finland’s most known and cherished restaurateurs, who has lived around the world and opened restaurants in Finland, Sweden and Australia. Tomi is inspired by vivid food cultures and has researched the diverse Asian cuisines enormously in the last decade. Tomi enjoys the fact that he can create new and exciting experiences for Finnish people by enabling them to try dishes from his own favorite places around the world.
Serko Rantanen
Executive Chef
Passionate Head Chef Serko has been Tomi’s trusted left hand for over a decade. Serko has wide spread knowledge in running profitable restaurants and he has travelled around the world seeking for new culinary experiences. Serko is dedicated to craftmanship and proudly uses his sharp knife preparing highest quality seafood for our guests. Serko owns a very extensive knowledge in Thai cooking.
Kevin Manu
Head Chef
Initially from Ireland, Kevin arrived to Finland after cooking his way around the world in Australia, USA and England as well as on luxury yachts. Passionate Thai cuisine’s expert made a significant career in Farang where he worked the last seven years. This proud little boy and girl’s father runs Boon Nam’s kitchen with his gentle but meticulous personality ensuring the food is served and prepared on the highest standards.

Ronny owns a long and vivid career from hotel industry and high class restaurants. By winning the national Maître d and waiter of the year. competition the level of quality is set relatively high. Ronny ensures a beautiful flow in the restaurant and pairs Thai food with wines in a mouthwatering way.

Honki owns a very versatile history from restaurant industry, he loves customer service and is extremely talented in running his front of house team. This quick-witted manager is very excited to deliver the best service to his customers on daily basis.

Throughout last 11 years, Minka has opened and led multiple successful restaurants in Finland, Sweden and Australia. Minka is extremely happy about opening Boon Nam, as Thai food culture is her true passion.
